He is survived by: his wife Carrie Ann Hiatt Smith; his mother Nancy Essick Gallant; his stepfather Donald Gallant; his children, Jessica Perry (Seth), Lauren Johnson (Austin), Chris Harp (Summer) and Jacob Harp (Kaelin); his grandchildren, John Cooper Perry, Chloe Harp, Madison Harp and Kinsley Harp; and his siblings, Eddie Smith (Michelle) and Tammy Smith Cockerham (James).
