He is survived by: his wife Nancy Vaden Simmons; his daughters, Kaye BeDen (Jack) and Gaye Smith (Phillip); his son-in-law Darrell Sluss; his sister Shirley McKinney (Raeford); his grandchildren, Daniel BeDen (Amanda), Michelle Hunt (Dustin), Anna Smith and Emily Gordy (Greysen); and his great grandchildren, Amelia Hunt, Darci Hunt and Katie BeDen.
