With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wanda Alice Severt Barnes of West Jefferson, North Carolina, who passed away on July 7, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnold Severt and Annie Mash Severt; and her siblings, Opal Severt Moore, Leonard, Paul, Don and Jimmy Severt.
She is survived by: her husband Howard Barnes; her children, Ronnie Barnes (Ina) of Millers Creek and Linda Goforth (Michael) of Millers Creek; her sisters, Bronda Elliott (Larry) of Jefferson and Shirley Neaves (Dale) of Jefferson; her grandchildren, Amy (Rip Rollins), Steven (Meridith Barnes) and Jonathan (Kayla Barnes); and her great grandchildren, Anna Rollins, Samuel Rollins, Alice Rollins, Rhett Barnes, Lyndsey Greene and Kaleigh Greene. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
