It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thelma Faye Wood of West Jefferson, North Carolina, who passed away on July 27, 2024, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alexander Holman and Dare Bare Holman; her husband George Howard Wood; her brothers, Wade and J. W. Holman; her son Gerald Wood; and her son-in-law Danny Sturgill.
She is survived by: her children, David Wood of West Jefferson, Archie Wood of Crumpler, Mark Daniel Wood (Imogene), Mary Helen Eller (Wade) of Fleetwood and Brenda Sturgill of West Jefferson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
