He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Lewis and Virginia Lewis; and his brother Bobby Lewis. He is survived by: his children, Bryan Lewis (Beverly) of West Jefferson, Karen White of Alexander County and Robin Rowe of Florida; his siblings, Danny Lewis of West Jefferson, Racine Eldreth of West Jefferson, Mary Lewis of West Jefferson and Christine Stephens of Creston; and his grandchild Kinsey Lewis.
