He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Jessie James Denny and Carrie Bell Keys Denny; his son David "Jess" Denny; and his siblings, Ed Denny, Johnny Denny, Joe Denny, Jackie Denny, Merline Winters, Memble Ellis, Mary Hill and Mickey Denny.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Maye Denny; his granddaughters, Alyssa Miller (Cody) of Millers Creek and Ashley Barr (Matt) of Crumpler; and his sister Ruthie Shoemaker of North Wilkesboro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the family in care of Ashelawn Memorial Chapel, 3470 U.S.Highway 221 North, Jefferson, NC 28640.
