She is survived by: her children, Catherine Lawing Ballard (Tim) and Arnold Scott Lawing; her brother Thurman Durrell Cothran, Jr.; her grandchildren, Robert Alexander Ballard, Lucy Catherine Ballard, William Walker Ballard (Caroline) and Houston Scott Lawing; and her great grandchild William Carter Ballard. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews.
