She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon John A. and Blanchie Jones; her husband Robert T. Long Jr.; and her siblings, Thelma Shaw, Dollie Reaves, Tillie Peterkin, Rosa McQueen, Ladrina Jones, Elmore Jones, Robert Jones and James Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Rev. Fontrina Wray (Alex) and Michael McQueen (Darlene); her siblings, Lillie Singletary of Bladenboro, NC, George Jones (Irene) of Clarkton, NC, Herman Jones (Nita) of Whiteville, NC and Blanchie Blanks of Clarkton, NC.; her great-aunt Greta Long of Virginia; and her grandchildren, Kayana, Alexis, Brittani, Elani, Kelsey, Ryder, Dezmin and Zach.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 8th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services (2005 Mt Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Welch's Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Odessa's love for children, donations may be made to the Ebenezer Christian Children's Home 1006 Byrd Ridge Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
