She was predeceased by: her parents, Quincy Smith and Katie Miller Smith; and her husband Russell Eugene "Gene" Polk. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Polk of West Jefferson, Janet Pardue (Robert) of Ronda, Sue Miller (Leon) of West Jefferson and Tina Davis (Tommy); her pet Creek; her brother John Smith (Barbara) of Athens, GA; her sisters-in-law, Ada Polk of Mocksville and Connie Polk of Myrtle Beach, SC; and her grandchildren, Tim, Teresa, Travis, Mike, Casey, Delta, Laska and Lucas. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Round Knob Baptist Church (247 Round Knob Church Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
