He was predeceased by: his father James Vance; and his siblings, Neal Goodman, Jack Wallace Goodman and Erma Goodman Middleton. He is survived by: his wife Marcella Jenkins Goodman; his children, James Edward Goodman of Wilkesboro, Pamela Goodman Edwards (Greg) of Wilkesboro and Patricia Goodman Jordan (Lucian) of West Jefferson; and his grandchildren, Ethan Jordan (Elizabeth), Kaitlyn Cox (Pierce) and Geoffrey Edwards (Olivia). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
