He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Henry Ring and Bessie June Sheets Ring; his wife Wilma Jean Ring; his son Thomas Ring; and his sisters, Carol Calhoun and Rose Greer.
He is survived by: his daughter Shelly Church (Fred) of Crumpler; his daughter-in-law Marti Ring of Glendale Springs; his grandchildren, Keagan Church, Jordan Church and Jaxon Church; and his siblings, Dale Ring of West Jefferson, Jerry Ring of Wilkesboro and Frances Greer of Jefferson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
