He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Lida Carpenter and Ottie Lou Patrick Carpenter; and his sisters, Betty Sue Carpenter, Wanda Mae Carpenter and Shelby Hartzog.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sullivan Carpenter; his children, Randy Carpenter (Kelly) of West Jefferson and Melissa Goss Murray (Dave) of Lansing; his siblings, Wilma May of Jefferson, Denver Carpenter (Ann) of Lansing, Charlie Carpenter (Karen) of Warrensville, Dolan Carpenter of Elk Park and Jerry Carpenter (Martha) of Lansing; his grandchildren, Sid Carpenter (Kaitlin) of West Jefferson, Luke Goss (Caroline) of Warrensville, Jesse Carpenter of West Jefferson, Kole Goss (Mckenzie) of Jefferson and Jed Goss of Lansing; and his great grandchildren, Hayes, Landrey, Smith Carpenter and Hudson Goss. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
