She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilborn Clayborn and Violet Owen Weaver; her husband Vincion "Dallas" Sturgill; her brother Kenneth Clay Weaver; her stepchildren, Vincion Dallas Sturgill, Jr. (Van) and Linda Willard; and her stepgrandson James Houck.
She is survived by: her sons, Charles Sturgill (Peggy) of West Jefferson and Rodney Sturgill (Beverly) of Jefferson; her stepdaughter Lavone Gentry of Winston-Salem; her siblings, Allen Weaver of Elizabethton, TN, Edna Mae Sawyer of Warrensville, Agnes Wyatt of Statesville, Betty Lambert (Richard) of Jefferson and Christine Wyatt; her grandchildren, Chelsey Sexton (Andrew), Josh Johnson (Tori), India Souther (Luke), Nate McCoy, Greyson Sturgill, Violet Sturgill and Celeste Stover; and her great grandchildren, Sullivan Souther, Bellamy Johnson, Everleigh Sexton, Morgan Mullis (Nate) and Drake Stover.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Boone Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services (2005 Mt Jefferson Rd, West Jefferson, NC 28694). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
