We are sad to announce that on June 11, 2023, at the age of 93, Dorothy Honaker of West Jefferson, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Honaker and Julie Honaker; her husband Alvin Lee West, Sr.; her children, Alvin Lee West, Jr., Michael Wayne West, David Allen Bowen, Jr., Joan Elizabeth West and Mary Lou West; and her daughter-in-law Alma West.
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Cassett of Galax, Ella Richardson (Larry) of West Jefferson, Roscoe West, Sr. (Robin) of Independence, VA and Charles Harris (Shelley) of Crumpler; her daughter-in-law Margit West of Independence; and her grandchildren, Alvin West III, Susanna Martin (Jon), Tim West (Leah), Charles Vanarsdale, James Edward Vanarsdale, Rachel Barker (Tim), April Hodge (Steven), Cindy Teaster Hash, Roscoe West, Jr. (Jennifer), Shannon Anders (Eric) and Matthew West (Christina). She is also survived by twenty great grandchildren, eight great, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
