He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Walter Sheets and Nettie Ray Burkett Sheets; his wife Shirley Wood; his stepchildren, Danny Houck of Purlear, NC, Diana Houck of North Wilkesboro, NC and Dawne Houck of Lexington, SC; and his siblings, Douglas Sheets of Jefferson, NC, Frank Sheets of Jefferson, NC, Willeen Fortner of Jefferson, Marguerite Bare of New London, PA and Beverly Waddell of West Jefferson. He was also cherished by two step grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to a charity of the donors' choice.
