He was predeceased by: his parents, John Howell and Nettie Neaves Howell; his former wife Mable McNeill Howell; his wife Madeline Eldreth Howell; and his siblings, Donlie Howell, Nona Brown, Clara Blevins and Edith Mahala.
He is survived by: his children, Wilma Mikeal (David) of Lansing and Roger Howell (Patricia) of Louisville, KY.. He is also survived by Five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
