She was predeceased by: her parents, John Lafayette and May McArn Ashby; and her husband Gerald Houston Helms Sr.. She is survived by: her son Gerald Houston Helms, Jr. (Anita Wocher Helms); her grandson Garrett Houston Helms of Cramerton, NC; and her pet Tiger. She is also survived by her family, friends.
