He was predeceased by: his father Levert Rudd Johnson; his daughter Marsha Moore (Richard); and his daughter-in-law Brenda Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Iris Josephine Thornton; and his children, Richard Ronald Johnson (Linda) of Albemarle, Eddie Richard Johnson (Vicky) of West End, Elaine Woodruff (Dale) of West End and Robin Harrill (Dallas) of West End. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers or memorial donations can be made in memory of Richard Johnson to the Calvary Christian School at 400 South Bennett St. Southern Pines, NC 28387.
