He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Hamilton and Mack Henry Hurt; his daughter Wanda Kay Hurt; and his brothers, Robert Lee Hurt and Arthur Ray Hurt.
He is survived by: his daughters, Betty Hurt Brantley (Rick) of Sparta and Rhonda Hurt Smith (Scott) of Benson; his grandchildren, Brandi Dean, Tiffany Brantley Gresham (Chris) and Lucas Smith (Melissa); and his great grandchildren, Taylor Dean, Elisha Dean, Luke Smith and Kade Smith. He is also survived by five great-great grandchildren.
