He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Kathleen Battle, Carolyn Dumas of Durham, NC, Mary Lee Williams (Joseph) of Wendell, NC and Leroy Dumas (Gail) of Wendell, NC; and his brothers, Billy Battle (Doris) of Raleigh, NC and Macon Battle (Mary) of Raleigh, NC. He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
