He was predeceased by: his parents, Lero Dalton Batten (Jack) and Louise Hinton Batten; and his brother L. D. Batten. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Massengill Batten; his son Alex; his daughter-in-law Charity Batten; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace Batten and Jamie Lou Batten; his siblings, Linda Batten Burgess (Jimmy), Wayne Batten (Pam) and Jackie Batten Utley (Jim); and his siblings-in-law, Ellen Batten and Robert Massengill (Christy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
