He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian Ray Lewter and Mary Elizabeth Beale; and his brother Donald Ray Lewter. He is survived by: his wife Diane Parker Lewter; his sons, Wayne Lewter, Jr. of Cary and Steve Lewter (Brenda) of Clayton; his grandsons, Parker Lewter and Dylan Lewter; and his sister Elizabeth Wilton (Charles). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
