He was predeceased by: his father Willie Melvin. He is survived by: his sister Betty Sowers Rogers of Winston-Salem; his nephew Jeff Long (Wendy) of Winston-Salem; his niece Amy Hinson (Tommy) of Norwood; and his great-nephews, Dustin Long and Luke Hinson.
