He was predeceased by: his parent Blake Penny; and his brother Loomis Reid Penny. He is survived by: his parent Georgia Dupree Penny; his wife Idell Penny; his sons, Johnny B. Penny (Celia), Alan B. Penny (Nancy) and Eric D. Penny; his grandchildren, Jonathan B. Penny (Lisa), Anthony C. Penny (Laura), Amanda N. Wamsley (Kurt), Luke Lee and Aaron Lee; and his great grandchildren, Reid Wamsley, Liana Wamsley, Arlis W. Penny and Dawson B. Penny.
