He was predeceased by : his parents, Arnold Hinkle and Gladys Hinkle. He is survived by : his son Michael Hinkle of Tyro; his stepchildren, Jeff Hutchens (Idania) of Mint Hill and Lisa Curry (Roy) of Lexington; his siblings, Ray Hinkle (Chandra) of Welcome, Gene Hinkle of Welcome, Mary Ruth Doby of Welcome and Shirley Younts of Welcome; his grandchildren, Will Hinkle of Asheville and Lindsay Hinkle of Carrboro; and his stepgrandsons, Tyson Curry (Mary Joy) of Clover, SC, Nolan Hutchins of Mint Hill, Lucas Hutchins of Mint Hill, Dylan Thompson of Mint Hill and Logan Thompson of Mint Hill.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davidson Funeral Home (301 N Main St, Lexington, NC 27292). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Center Church of Welcome (186 Center Church Rd, Lexington, NC 27295).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Center Church of Welcome.
