She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Leach Sanford and Maude Faucette Sanford; and her brothers, Albert Gene Sanford and Marshall Sanford. She is survived by: her husband Elmus Gray Pegram; her children, Donna P. Boyd (Keith) of Henderson, Patricia P. Woodlief (Allen) of Norlina, Ronnie Dale Pegram (Janet) of Henderson and Randy Gray Pegram of Wake Forest; her siblings, Sylvia S. Arnold, Nell S. Clark of Henderson, Carolyn S. Denton of Zebulon, Gilbert Sanford of Jacksonville, Freddie Sanford of Henderson and Richard Sanford of Louisburg; and her grandchildren, Judith Pegram, Matthew Pegram (Gina), Shannon Pegram, Thomas Boyd Kristen Golding (Morgan), Tori Woodlief, Kara Pegram, Trey Woodlief, Stephanie Pegram and Jonathan Boyd.
