He is survived by: his wife Nancy Gail Childress Burkhart; his children, Michael Burkhart (Karyn) of Clemmons, Tracey Thayer (Ron) of Wilmington and Kelly Cobb (Paul) of Clemmons; his siblings, Jerry Burkhart (Jerri), Jack Burkhart (Beverly) and Jean Green (Johnnie) of Mocksville; and his grandchildren, Tyler Thayer (Kelli), Lauren Thayer, Cameron Thayer, Rachel Cobb, Frederick Cobb, Alec Burkhart and Bryce Burkhart.
