We are sad to announce that on October 22, 2019, at the age of 82, Rachel Misenheimer Matthews (Weddington, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Stitt Matthews; and her sister Elizabeth Haywood. She is survived by: her children, Shelia Matthews Allen and Richard Daryl Matthews; her son-in-law John Allen; her grandchildren, Brandon Allen, Brittany Woods, Bethany Davies and Jarrin Tucker; her great grandchildren, Maylena and Frederick Woods; and her sisters, Dorothy Russell, Mary Misenheimer and Ruth Cook. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Weddington United Methodist Church, Clyde Wesleyan Church, or South Mountain Family Camp (Casar, NC).
