He was predeceased by: his parents, James Loyd and Annie Buckner Rogers; and his siblings, Wilma R. Penley and Jimmy Rogers. He is survived by: his wife Sabra Presnell Rogers; his children, Angela Carter (Jim) and Johnny Rogers (Lisa) of Travelers Rest, SC; his brother David Rogers (Joan); and his grandchildren, Jessicca Vella (Joey), Jamie Carter, Brittany Cabe (Ryan), Jonathan Rogers, Joshua Rogers and Kaytlynn Huff (Nate). He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
