He was predeceased by: his parents, Stokley Evans and Mary Lou Head Evans; his brother Donald Ray Evans (Joyce); his uncle Lee Evans; and his siblings-in-law, Wanda Arrington, Linda Reavis, Mary Jo Smith and Junior Buckner.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Buckner Evans; his daughter Kristy Norton (Stephen); and his siblings-in-law, Ruby Jo Buckner, LaTona Wetzler, Earl Arrington, Weldon Reavis and Howell Smith.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM at the Locust Grove Baptist Church (305 Locust Grove Rd, Weaverville, NC 28787). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
