He was predeceased by: his father Jack J Santangelo; and his grandparents, Jack, Jenny Santangelo, Michael and Anna Marriello.
He is survived by: his mother Rosemarie M Santangelo; his wife Diana Carter Santangelo; his children, Michelle Santangelo, Nicole Santangelo Vargas (Otoniel) of New York, Robert Jr. Alexander (Kara) and Jack (Amanda) of New York; his grandchildren, Rowen, River, Ryland, Theodore Santangelo, Sol Vargas and Nora Vargas; his son Nathanial Bailey; his stepdaughters, Mary Jo and Bailee Carter; his siblings, Jacqueline Swartz (Howard), Stephen (Anne) and Richard (Pam); his godsons, Jonathan (Rachel), Daniel (Tracy), Nicholas (Anna) and Michael (Elaine); and his nieces, Nadia (Owen), Elizabeth (Andy) and Jennifer (Adam).
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, November 4th 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the St. Eugene Catholic Church (72 Culvern St, Asheville, NC 28801). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lewis Memorial Park (415 Beaverdam Rd, Asheville, NC 28804).
