He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Ponder (Alvin) of Weaverville and Lora Freeman (Joe Griffey) of Weaverville; his brother John Smith (Phyllis) of Hendersonville; his grandchildren, Jordan Burchette (Mason), Cody English (Emilie), Derek Ponder (Gen) and Lucas Fore; and his great grandchildren, Emmeline Burchette, Landon Ponder, Hailey Ponder and Walker Burchette.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM at the Chapel of West Funeral Home (17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville, NC 28787).
