It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ponese Evelyn Buckner (Weaverville, North Carolina), who passed away on August 14, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Buckner and Evelyn Sluder Buckner; her sister Martha Worley Rich; her son Terry Buckner; her grandson Timothy Cole; and her parents-in-law, Bill and Dolly Buckner.

She is survived by: her husband Wilburn Buckner; her children, Vickie Benkelman (Dave) and Jeff Buckner (Cynthia); her sister Peggy Farnsworth (Lee); her sister-in-law Dorothy Roberts (Gary); her grandchildren, Jason Cole and Monica Wright (Fredd); her great grandchildren, Garrett Buckner and Issac Webb (Ashley); and her great great grandchild Zeb Webb. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
