He was predeceased by: his wife Lucille Waldrup Freeman; his parents, Oliver Freeman and Lona Freeman; and his siblings, Christine Smart and Richard Freeman of South Carolina.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Freeman Davis (Edward) of Weaverville, Tammy Freeman Cordray (Wesley) of Illinois and Herman W. Freeman of Burnsville; his grandchildren, Matthew Neil Freeman (Delia) of Weaverville, Austin T. Davis (Erica) of Weaverville, Jessica of Illinois, Alicia of Illinois, Jake of Illinois and Aaron Cordray of Illinois; his great grandchildren, Lila, Jaxson of Weaverville, Theo, Jackson and Chloe of Illinois; and his nieces and nephews, Richard, Neil, Trina and Crystol Freeman.
