He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Sawyer and Dorothy Parker Sawyer; and his pet Allie. He is survived by: his children, Erin Whitson (Ryan) and Tyler Sawyer (Kaye Sewell); his sister Shirley Franklin (Stevie Joe); his grandchildren, Amethyst Sawyer and Easton; and his nephews, Shannon and Steven Franklin.
A reception will be held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the West Funeral Home (17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville, NC 28787).
