He was predeceased by: his father Javard Dean Gardner; and his grandparents, Lucy Grice Adams and John Berry Grice. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Anne Parris Vinson; his daughters, Jennifer Hopkins (Richard) of Burlington, NC and Joy Gardner (Joe) of Weaverville, NC; his sisters, Mary Campbell and Sharon Crews; his grandchildren, Ethan Hopkins, Adam Chandley, Katie Chandley and Noah Quinlan; his nephew Scott Odom; and his nieces, Leora Driver and Tammy Carr.
