He is survived by: his wife Brenda Brank Ballard; his daughters, Connie Massey (Mickey) and Caryn Cogdill (Tony); and his grandchildren, Tyler Cogdill (Taylor), Meagan Cogdill (Jonathan) and Mickey Massey, Jr. (Corren).

“I met Conley about 3 years ago after I moved here from VA. I stopped to ask him if I could buy some of his sunflowers. He looked at me like I was crazy and said, "No, take all you want." I often stopped to get sunflowers and tried to repay him with baked goods. What a very kind man. I was aware that the sunflower field did not appear to be planted this year. Thank you, Conley, for your kindness and sharing the beautiful sunflower garden with all who passed by. Mary”
