She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Mae Metcalf Whittemore and Robert Franklin Whittemore; her husband Elmer Buckner; her son-in-law Earl Wilburn; and her siblings, Ada Mae Jenkins, Velva Mundy, Ruth Sheehan, Wilbur, Paul, Ralph, Mack, Carrol and Woodson Whittemore.
She is survived by: her children, Gerald Buckner (Juanita) and Dianne Black; and her grandchildren, Cindy, Stephen (Kacey), Jonathan (Jennifer), Jeremiah (Natasha), Harry and Sandra Wooten. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
