With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Barbara Jean Nolen (Weaverville, North Carolina), born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who passed away on February 26, 2023 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by: her parents, Broward Gatlin and Willie Ophelia Kemp Gatlin; her husband Jack K. Nolen; her sister Angelyn Whiddon (Gene); and her niece Tari Whiddon.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara "Bobbi" Hollar (David) of Piedmont, SC, Kerry Nolen of Weaverville and Jackie Szaro (Stephen Dew) of Kernersville, NC; her grandchildren, David Lee Hollar, Brent Michael Hollar, Heather Marie Szaro and Conner Ryan Szaro; her nephews, Gene Whiddon and Scott Whiddon of Ft. Lauderdale Florida; and her daughter Girl Scouts.
