He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Burris and Helen Sawyer Burris; his wife Anna Head Norman Burris; and his siblings, Babe Ruth Burris, Lewis Burris, Donald Burris, Wilma Burris Hazelwood and Peggy Burris Moody.

He is survived by: his sister-in-law Margaret Burris. He is also survived by his step-children; and several nieces and nephews.
