He was predeceased by: his parents, James McElroy and Gloria McElroy; and his siblings, David McElroy and Amanda Woolf. He is survived by: his son Stephen Joseph McElroy, Jr.; and his sisters, Ellen Ramer, Patricia Volpicella, Mary Hanrahan and Diane DeSilva.
