He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Etta Aldridge Putnam; and his brother David Putnam. He is survived by: his children, Rosemary Sutton (David), Charles Putnam and Terry Putnam (Charlotte); and his grandchildren, Chris Sutton, Melanie Sutton Snare, Tracy Lee, Kendra Reeder, Jenny Kuykendall, Lindsey Putnam, Cassie Putnam, Matthew Clark and Daniel Clark.
