He is survived by: his wife Brenda Carpenter; his stepdaughter Heather Davidson of Spartanburg; his siblings, Sheree Hill (Mike) of Waynesville and Joe Steve Carpenter (Martha) of Sylva; his nieces, Brittany Crisp and Morgan Carpenter; and his nephew Wesley Hill.
