He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Sorrells and Mellie Byrd Sorrells; his son Christopher Ellison Sorrells; and his siblings, LaVerne Edwards, Hazel Pilkington, Mildred Gibbs, Betty Arrington, Mary Rhinehart, Anne Guy, J. D. Sorrells and Ronnie Sorrells.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Tate Sorrells; his siblings, Marilyn Guy and Bill Sorrells (Hazel) of Waynesville; his daughter-in-law Sheila Sorrells of Waynesville; his grandchildren, Lauren Favichia (Javin) and Garrett Fox; and his great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Samuel and Hendrix. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
