He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Buchanan and Shirley Muse Buchanan; and his siblings, Jack Buchanan and Emma Chastain. He is survived by: his wife Shelba Buchanan; his children, Paula Nichols (Wayne), Tony Buchanan and Chad Buchanan (Geneva); his grandchildren, Colby Nichols (Jordan), Ross Buchanan, Sydney Withrow (Cody), Morgan Buchanan, Colton Buchanan and Casey Buchanan (Miles Chandler); his great grandchild Emmy Kate Chandler; his stepgrandchildren, Caden and Kendalyn Massingale; his siblings, Carolyn Roberson (Phillip) and Joe Buchanan (Wanda); and his siblings-in-law, Lou Buchanan and Tommy Chastain.
