She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Gilbert and Ella May Merritt; and her brother Benjamin Gilbert Merritt, Jr.. She is survived by: her former husband Karl Rickert Benson, Jr.; her husband Rick; her daughters, Janet Benson Forville (Bret) and Merritt Benson Ulman (Patrick); her grandchildren, Bennett, Everett Forville, Ellamay and Keller Ulman; her mother-in-law Betty Benson Sweet; and her sisters-in-law, Loretta Benson Peterson (Bruce) and Elizabeth Whitefield Merritt.
