She was predeceased by: her parents, Rubin Rathbone and Bida Rathbone; her former husband Harley Vance Messer; her children, Retha Jone and Bernard Dale Messer; her husband William D. Franklin; and her siblings, Homer Rathbone, Shook Rathbone, Lewis Rathbone, Annie Burchfield, Ola Sutton and Blanche Garland.
She is survived by: her children, Bryson Franklin and Terry Burnette (Ricky); her nephew Herb Burchfield (Jeanie); her grandchildren, Bryson Colton Franklin, William Franklin, Kristen Franklin, Julie Queen, Misty Rogers, Jessica Harris, Slade Burnette and Timmy Burnette; her foster son James "Jim" Inman (Lora); and also, John and Jessie. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
