We are sad to announce that on October 28, 2020, at the age of 97, Mary Authorine Smathers of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parent Saunook; her daughters, Jean Leonard and Janice Cochran (Buddy); her granddaughter Karen Wade (Darren); her granddaughter-in-law Heather Cochran Hollingsworth (Tim); her great grandchild Courtney Smith (Eric); her great great grandchild Hutson Smith; and her brothers, Manuel (Mary Sue) and Carroll Hooper (Agnes Jane). She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Pleasant Balsam Baptist Church, 2262 Old Balsam Road, Waynesville, North Carolina 28786.
