She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Shelton and Geneva Plemmons Shelton; her husband James Milas Wood; her grandson Andrew Brandon Wood; her great grandchild Deslyn Tay Sherrill; and her brother-in-law Jimmy Sharp.

She is survived by: her children, Renee Wood Sherrill, Mike Wood (Amy), Kim "Kimbo" Wood (Melanie) and Stephen Wood (Sharon); her siblings, Sue Sharp, Darlene Rogers (David), Earl Shelton and Ed Shelton (Sandy); her grandchildren, Trey Sherrill (Samantha), Taylor Ledford, Daniel Harrison, Whitney Edwards Towe (Justin), Jacob Edwards, Ireland Edwards, Brittany Wood, Stephanie Smith (Mike), Stacy Wood, Tiffany Richardson (Darin) and Craig Marcoux; and her great grandchildren, Morgan, Maddox, Mason Sherrill, Lexi Smith, Matilda, Abigail Richardson and Cody Marcoux. She is also survived by many extended family and friends.
