He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Augustus Stahl and Joan Phillips Stahl Francis of Waynesville; his stepfather William Herman Francis of Waynesville; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Frankie Johnson of Canton.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Johnson Stahl; his children, Kendra Stahl Wilson, David of Boone, Gregory Johnson Stahl of Raleigh, Jeffrey Kendal Stahl and Angela of Asheville; his granddaughters, Samantha Stahl of Raleigh and Trinity Stahl of Asheville; and his sisters-in-law, Jan Johnson Williams (Dan) and Bentley.
